2008 Miss Capital Region Scholarship Pageant

Dear Prospective Miss Contestant:

On behalf of the Miss Capital Region Organization, we are excited that you will be part of the 2008 Miss Capital Region Scholarship Pageant. If you will be competing please return the application, your picture and any ads sold (ads sales are not a requirement for participation) as soon as possible. Remember you must have met your Children’s Miracle Network goal of fundraising of $100 prior to participation in the pageant You must send in your necessary paperwork and photo no later. JANUARY 11^th 2008. Please understand that contestants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, and there is a limit to the number of contestants due to time constraints

Please adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Submit 2 B/W prints of a head & shoulder photograph of yourself. These can also be on disk.
Please do NOT submit computer scanned photos, as they do not reproduce well. All photographs should be received ASAP and are not returnable.

 2. Program book ads are also a great way to promote yourself as a contestant to local business or organizations. All ads are to be submitted in a PDF file with a resolution of 200 DPI or higher. Ads will be in black and white for the program book. Rates are as follows: Full page $ 75, half page
$ 50 and ¼ page ads $35
All checks for ads should be made to the Miss Capital Region Scholarship Pageant.
All Ads need to be turned in no later than January 5th for the program book to be printed.

3. As soon as you have made a decision on the particular music associated with your talent, call 804 938 0530
and register it with us. NO TWO CONTESTANTS will be allowed to use the same music. THE
FIRST CONTESTANT to register a preference for a particular song gets her choice.

4. As a contestant in the Miss Capital Region Scholarship Pageant, you will need a business suit
for personal interview, a one or two-piece swimsuit, talent costume, evening gown and an
opening number outfit. Please remember it is not the cost of your outfit, but finding the best color and fit that gives you the “winning look".

This year's theme for the show is “A Night on Broadway” and you will need a black dressy outfit for the opening number.
You may choose a black cocktail dress, gown or dressy pants and top.

6. Please make sure EVERYTHING ON YOUR APPLICATION IS ACCURATE. It is your responsibility as a contestant to make sure of this prior to sending your application in.

All of your application information may be verified for accuracy by our board.
